Meet Mako – The Shelter Pit Bull That Thinks He’s a Cat
|Dogs are incredible! They’re very social and they adore being part of a pack. They also learn quickly and adapt to every environment. Mako is a pit bull who immediately adapted to the new environment and his new family.
Bethany and Samantha Castiller decided to adopt Mako from a shelter when he was 2 years old, but they weren’t quite sure how the dog will adapt with their cats.
“When we went to the pet shelter, Mako had looked over his shoulder and gave us direct eye contact and we just fell in love with the little guy. At the time, he looked like a bobblehead because his head was so much larger than his body, we just thought he was adorable,” says Bethany.
The first couple of days, Bethany and Samantha kept the cats in separate part of the house because they wanted to slowly introduce them the newest member of the family. Mako started jumping up on the small tables, and he was full of energy and super excited.
When Bethany and Samantha introduced Mako to the cats, they realized that he kind of acts like them. The cats would jump on the counter, and he’ll join the right away. He just loved being around them all the time. It looks like Mako had grown up with cats in his previous home, and that’s why he adopted elegant feline behaviors. How else would you explain a huge pit bull on top of the fridge?
